Pings

Everytime you post a new Blog or update your pages, WordPress PINGS the main Web Services and Search Engines. WordPress uses Pingomatic as it’s default ping service, however, you may wish to enter a more comprehensive list. Go to the Settings Tab in he left hand sidebar in your dashboard – Choose Writing and replace the exisiting Ping service with this list.

These, like 99% of the features I demonstrate, are Free of charge When installing the plug-ins, in your WordPress Backend, go to the Add New Plugins tab and copy the names of these plugins and paste into the search box and they should be the first you see. Feel free to use the eamample below for a GetResponse Opt-In form

Specify The Dynamic Fields, separated by commas, to be used; in this example they are

SubmitButtonText,CampaignName,SalesPageURL,ReferringSite

 

Dynamic Fields are then enclosed between HASH symbols in the code (see example below)

#SubmitButtonText# – The text to be displayed on your Submit Button

#CampaignName# – The name of your Getresponse Campaign

#SalesPageURL# – The URL of your Sales Page where visitors will be redirected after they submit form

#ReferringSite# – If you have This Opt-in form on other sites, Track  where they came from by specifying a Referring Site

Makes the first letter of the page a Dropped Capital.

  • Exclude Pages from Navigation

Allows you to create pages that will not be displayed in your menu.  Useful for administrative purposes.

Allows you control which widgets appear on individual pages.

Allows Your Page to display a list of other related Pages or Posts from your site

  • WP-DBManager

Database management tools.  Can repair and auto backup your WordPress Database.  In my opinion a must!

  • W3 Total Cache

As all site content is stored on a database, every time someone access your page the page must be re-read which slows everything down. This plug-in allows WordPress Cache your page as if it is a static HTML page for faster loading. If you have a lot of plug-ins in use then this will help speed pageloads up a lot.

If you can’t find a plugin you would like, don’t be afraid to Google it. It may be available for free, or as a premium download at another location.
